Taking Attendance (Student Activity)

This tool is only available to Rutgers Newark and RBS Courses

This article will teach you how to take Qwickly Attendance using Student Activity.  

Student Activity mode automatically assigns attendance based on learners’ interactions in Canvas without requiring students to manually check in. It evaluates engagement within a specific date range and can mark students as Present if they complete at least one selected activity, such as:

  • Logging into the course
  • Posting to a discussion
  • Submitting an assignment or quiz

Enter your course

Select "Student Activity"

Attendance choice will default to your last selection

Select the specific date range you like to take attendance for

Choose the categories and activities under each to based your attendance on. Categories include Course login, Discussion Contribution, Assignment Attempts, and Quiz Attempts

You may choose one or many activities

Below is an example based on student login. Students who have not logged in are marked absent and noted.
