Course Capture

How to Capture and Record your Course Session

Kaltura Classroom Capture (KCC) is a quick and easy way to record your lecture, meeting, presentation, or other activity in a RU-N classroom with a podium computer. Recordings made with KCC use the audio and video equipment installed in the classroom, and are delivered to your Kaltura account.

To receive recordings from KCC, you need to have a Kaltura account. If you don't have an account, to create one, go to Rutgers Mediaspace at mediaspace.rutgers.edu  and log in. Your account will be created during the login process.

To start recording, follow these steps:

1. Log onto the classroom computer with your NetID and password

2. Double Click on the Kaltura Classroom Capture icon

3. Adjust audio or video settings by using the camera(1), audio (2) and the screen settings (3) buttons

4. Click the red button in the center of the screen to start to record

5. The application will start a count down to recording starting

6. While recording, you may stop (1) to end the recording, pause the recording (2) or cancel (3) the recording

7. When you are finished, press the stop button

8. Enter a Title that will describe the course and date you are recording

9. Type in your NetID and select your name

10. Click Save

Kaltura Classroom Capture will begin to upload your video to your Kaltura account.  This may take some time depending on the length of your course.  You can logout of the computer, but do not turn it off.
