Export a Blackboard course to a Canvas Course

This article will discuss how to export a course from Blackboard to Canvas.

Enter you Blackboard Course and click "Packages and Utilities" in the Control Panel

Click "Export/Archive Course"

Click the button labeled "Export Package"

Leave the default options under "File Attachments"

Under "Select Course Materials" click "Select All", Then click "Submit"

When the archive package is complete you will be emailed or you may click the "Refresh" button until it is ready

Click the archive package to download it on your computer

Enter your Canvas Course and click on "Import Existing Content" button on the menu on the right side of the screen

Click "Blackboard 6/7/8/9 export .zip file" from the drop down menu

Click "Choose File" and find the archive file on your computer

Click "All Content", Then Click "Import"

Your import will be done when your Import status changes to "Completed"

Please keep in mind that the layout of your content will be different.
