Create a rubric

A rubric is a tool that lists evaluation criteria or an assignment. Rubrics can help students organize their efforts to meet the requirements of an assignment. Instructors can use rubrics to explain their evaluations to students.

1.1. Go to Control Panel.

1.3. Click on Rubrics.

2. Click Create Rubric.

3. Enter Rubric Information.

3.1. In the Name field, enter a name for your rubric.

3.2. Enter a description for your rubric.

4. Click on the format your would like your rubric to take.

5. The rubric is made of rows (which correspond to various criteria of the assignment) and columns (which correspond to the level of achievement expressed for each criteria). Add a row if you want to insert a new criteria or add a column to introduce a new level of achievement.

5.1. Change the levels of achievement and criteria title category names to suit your specific needs by clicking on the drop down arrow next to the title name and selecting Edit.

6. Enter the information for each cell in the rubric.

7. Adjust the percentage rate of each criteria according to your preference or use the balance weights option to keep all criteria weighted equally.
